Frequently Asked Questions

My advisory is a confidential, forward-looking partnership focused on empowering clients to unlock their own profound insights and solutions for transformational outcomes and legacy building.

While I bring extensive experience and deep thinking to our conversations, the primary aim is to enhance your decision-making and capacity for high-impact action. Mentoring, which I also offer, involves more direct guidance based on my background. Therapy typically addresses deeper emotional patterns and past experiences.

My approach provides a discreet, thinking partnership for accomplished individuals facing important junctures, focusing on leveraging your unique strengths to achieve your desired future and enduring impact.

This is an excellent question. While both provide a supportive, confidential space, they serve different purposes. Therapy often focuses on healing and understanding the past to improve present well-being. Coaching is primarily forward-looking and action-oriented. It focuses on your present situation and future aspirations, helping you design strategies, build skills, and take concrete steps to achieve your goals. The two can be highly complementary. Many clients find that the self-awareness gained in therapy can be powerfully channelled into actionable strategies in coaching. I will always work ethically and respectfully alongside any therapeutic work you are undertaking.

We begin by clearly defining what success looks like for you, in tangible and meaningful terms where possible, focusing on clarity, leadership effectiveness, and legacy objectives. We regularly review progress against these bespoke objectives. Adapted frameworks can be used if appropriate, looking at engagement, insights gained, shifts in thinking and leadership, application of new frameworks, and ultimately, the concrete, enduring outcomes achieved in your personal, professional, and philanthropic spheres. The emphasis is on ensuring our work together delivers clear and significant value to you and your legacy.

You can expect a private, focused conversation where we can explore your current situation, your objectives, and any specific challenges you're facing, with the utmost discretion.

It's an opportunity for you to understand my approach and for us to mutually determine if there's a strong basis for a confidential partnership. There is no commitment implied by this initial discussion.

Absolutely. In fact, many clients begin their journey with a general feeling of being 'stuck' or knowing that something needs to change, without a clear objective in mind. A core part of our initial work is to create a space where you can explore your situation without pressure. It enables you to cut through the noise and clarify the core challenges and opportunities, bringing focus and actionable insights into what you truly want to achieve. The goal-setting itself is often the first breakthrough.

Discretion is the bedrock of my practice. I understand that my clients - be they in enterprise, government, or private life - operate in high-stakes environments where privacy is non-negotiable. All engagements are governed by rigorous ethical standards and absolute confidentiality. Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are available and welcomed. One key purpose is to create an "utterly safe space" where you can explore your most sensitive challenges with complete peace of mind, knowing what we cover and what you share is fully protected.

That's a crucial question. Coaching is a powerful, forward-looking process aimed at helping you gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and achieve specific personal or professional goals. It differs from therapy, which often explores past experiences to improve present well-being, and from mentoring, which typically involves direct guidance from someone with specific experience.

Coaching is most effective when you are ready to actively engage in self-reflection, explore new perspectives, and commit to taking action. If you're feeling stuck, facing a significant decision, or aiming for growth but are unsure of the next steps, coaching can provide the structure and support you need.

To help you explore this further, please feel free to read my detailed guide: 'The Right Moment: When Coaching Isn't Right for You - And When It Is.'

Engagements are bespoke and tailored to your unique needs. While there is no fixed duration, many clients find a 12-week journey to be highly effective for achieving significant clarity and making substantial progress.

The investment is determined following our initial discussion, once we have a clear understanding of the scope and nature of your bespoke requirements and any explicit outcomes you seek.

As a guide, individual programs typically start from £350 per session. Comprehensive family office engagements or advisory retainers are scoped individually based on complexity and duration. I would be pleased to provide a tailored proposal after our initial confidential conversation.
